I am having a new windshield installed in the frame and they are having trouble with the top moulding fitting together properly. There is approx. 1/8" gap between each side post. The gasket is new and it was not like that when it was taken apart.
Any suggestions?
Sorry. pics are not that great..taken on cell phone
thanks..
If the post are not on the windshield all the way this would cause this problem, but the molding never fit perfect against the side post. You have to be real creative when installing them.
The side post is attached to the upper retainer by a flat plate and two screws. If the post tab on the bottom is lining up with the holes in the lower retainer, and the upper retainer is lined up then the post is in the correct position. See if you can see the holes in the bracket on the upper molding. I don’t have a good picture of this to show you but I’ve looked at pictures three other frames I’ve installed and they do not appear (bad pics) to be up against the edge of the lip on the pillar.
Maybe someone will have a good picture they can post.
Here is about the best picture I have of my car, and it one taken for someone else about the screws so there is not much detail on the gap between the pillar and the molding.
