Wanted to make a final update to this thread, as I finally had the opportunity (and all the parts) to get this reassembled after receiving the blueprinted box back from Gary Ramadei (GTR1999).
With the new box, rebuilt column, and all the bushings torqued properly, the handling is UNREAL. Super tight and responsive. I really like the PS. Not over-assisted as I recall in the 71 & 72 PS small blocks I had years ago.
Gary R's workmanship is top-notch. I highly recommend his services. Truly an asset to the vintage Corvette community
