No Booze! (a little later), No Women! (Except on the Wall), and my favorite Willie Nelson Tunes. That's how I'm getting through my Dash/Firewall rebuild. I can't see like I used to, so often it's feel and Patience. Mostly Patience! But, these days I have way more Patience than years back. (And nothing to Prove!). Al W.
Scraping the fuzzy insides in teh suk
putting down Dynamat is hot & sweaty.
Spraying the glue to put down the reflectix is horrible.
Enjoyed the wiring and dash install.
Carpet install had me in tears for 2 days.
Finding out that some of the screw holes for the rear window and Halo pieces were stripped out had the neighbors ready to call the cops. Due to the Homicidal rantings that were coming from the garage next door.
Oh yeah I love working in the arizona summer heat

I agree, the steering column is a highly over-rated part of the car.
In all seriousness, I really didn't find yanking the column out or in that difficult of a job. I actually (my opinion only) thought it turned out to be a much easier job, than I mentally prepared for prior to actually pulling.
Since then I've pulled several, and each one seems to get easier. The one thing I believe helped was yanking out the seat (only 2 bolts) which made it easier for this ole rather large frame to snuggle up in there.
Well I got it done enough to drive. I drove the car to the Hot Rod show in OC and had a good time. The new turn signal switch crapped out at the beach and the signals stayed on all the time when the key was on. I pulled the relay did without with turn signals for the weekend.
This is my is progress so far. The car had black carpet with no insulation, light blue dash and while vinyl seats. It is now has reflectix insulation throughout, 66 dark blue carpet and dash and the seats are 65 white leather. While the glove box, instrument panel and console were out a freshened them up with a little cleaning and paint.
Sky, How was the weather. I was supposed to go but
pulled a muscle in my back on Wed. @ work. It would
have been my first big show and long drive since my
rear end rebuild. I was so po'd. Getting old SUCKS.
I'll be there for corvette weekend and endless summer
cruise. I believe they are back to back weekends in Oct.
By the way your car looks great. Nice work.

I left about 5:45 Saturady morning and got to the the beach about 9:00 am. The weather looked iffy but turned out to be a pretty day. It rained late Sat night/Sun morning and rained today on the way home on the eastern shore. It was a good time. Sorry you missed it. I go to the fall cruise as well. Another good one. Not quite as big as the spring cruise but still big.
Tom
Tom,
She's looking really good!! When are ya gonna drive her down to VA Beach?? I still owe ya a ride in mine.
Jeff
I'm going to work my way down the week of July 13th. I'll spend the first part of the week in Richmond and be down to the beach the end of that week. I will stay down for vacation the following week. I should be down for work in June too. I am still looking forward to a ride in your car one of those trips! Maybe even both?!!
makes all those razor cuts , fuzzy carpet stuck to your fingers and the couple of knots on your head worthwhile now
Not too many razor cuts but sticky fingers?!....Man you got that right! I thought my grandkids were bad with glue! I need some serious adult supervision when I have a can of spray glue in my hands!!!!
Elaine and I got back in town today. Your interior work looks great. Can't wait to see it in person. When you get down in July you, Jeff and I have to get together for a photo shoot of the three cars. It's gonna make a great shot.
Oh yeah. At my age and size I did a coupe interior. Thanks for the hats off and what are you complaining about?

Thanks. The interior looks pretty good. I still have to finish the rear carpet fitment and the old door panels are still on. The door panels really need to be replaced. However, the new wheels and tires and the interior stuff I already got put the door panels on hold for a little while.
A photo shoot of the three car sounds very cool! Look forward to it!

I had the same problem only both my tails would flash at the same time -all the time.
Dont waste time pulling your TS switch out. FIx the problem in car.
Pull wheel, remove TS cancelling cam. You'll see 3 Bi metallic springs and 6 brass posts. Bend the springs so when they are at rest the ends of them are off of each other and off the outer posts. IIRC the 2 identical springs should touch the center middle post when TS is at rest.
If you have questions I'll draw a bad picture, email it and explain.
Looks Beautiful!!!

That is exactly what my car is doing! I won't have a chance to look at it until Friday but I will check it out.
Thanks!!!!

Can't wait to get to the interior, I'm only this far after 1 1/2 years. I enjoyed doing the engine, chassis, suspension and tranny. At this rate I'm not gonna be cruising this summer. Be painting the jambs this weekend.
