Can a few members with VPB 460 lb springs measure their right height from ground to center of front fender for me. 15 inch rims 215 70 series tire. Thanks much.

......You must mean 360

I have a custom 390 built on a 425 blank and it is pretty darn stiff.

I measure 25 3/4 and 25 11/16.

However, I am running 225 tires.

I will measure mine later tonight and send you my height.... I have new springs, 215/70/15 Michelin V rated tires, 427/390 , and I had it set up correctly.. Everything is stock on the car and we were very careful in getting the ride height correct, because when I got the car 3 years ago, the springs were worn out and she was sitting real low...

Thank you, and a quick question for you. Do you like the way your car rides with them? Or basically would you put them on again?

My front fender height is 26 inches even. I think my front springs are 360 lb. big block springs. Who told you to get 460 lb. springs.?

I am confused on that. ( My research has never turned up 460 lb. springs.)

I have read where the 327 cars had 300 lb. front springs and the big block cars had 360 lb. springs on the front...

I love the way mine rides, and Dan Martin, the corvette guru down here, set mine up.. He talked me into the fiberglass rear spring, instead of the 7 leaves. He said I could always put them on later if I decide to go NCRS. The car rides 10 times better with the fiberglass rear spring. I have the V rated tires and fiberglass rear spring because I like to drive the car often.. ( not often enough, but a tank of gas every 10 days to 2 weeks....)

Let me know how your car comes out. This is the 2nd 66 427/390 car I have had in the last few years.. Sold the first one, regretted it, then bought this one a couple of years later. I plan on keeping this one.

Unless I am reading something wrong, I am refering to the 460 lb GT front coil springs from VBP. You said you have the 360 lb front springs on your car. Where did you buy them from?

I should have mentioned that I have a small block, although I also have power steering & brakes as well as aftermarket AC.

I chose this particular front spring because I trust VB&P and they recommend it as the best all-around touring choice.

The ride height is close enough for me, even though the spring is a little shorter than the supposedly stock replacements I installed in about 1980. The shorter spring just makes it easier to cram in there without having to compress it.

I got the correct 360 lb. springs from Corvette Central.

I would send those incorrect 460 lb. springs back unless you plan on going 4 wheeling, which is what they are good for..

Evidently the guy at VBP who sold you these does not know what is correct for a big block 66..
