A friend of mine went to open the hood of his 66 coupe after a ride to disconnect the battery. The cable apparently snapped and we can't get the hood to open. Has this happened to anyone?
The only thing I can think of, if the outer splash shields are not installed, is try to open the latch from underneath the car, maybe with a BMF flat blade screw driver.
There are several posts here about it and yes the solutions I've seen say you have to get at it from under the car. Some even suggest running an extra cable down the front of the firewall somewhere, connected to the latches, that is a 'backup' if the primary cockpit lever fails...
