Default 1962 brake options ?

How would I know what brake option is on my 1962 vette? Regular Production Option (RPO) 687 or RPO 686 had 11x2-inch cast-iron drums and sintered-iron brake shoes.
The car has 340hp, close ratio 4 speed and 4.56 posi rear. We have had this car since 1965.

686 was only the metallic shoes, drums and everything else would be the same as the base brake system. If someone changed out the metallic shoes for standard ones at a brake change, I don't think there's any way of identifing a car originally equiped with metallic brakes. RPO 687 was a complete package that included metallic brakes, different drums, vented backing plates, and the fast steering adapter. I believe 687 was only available with FI.

I think the brake springs if original are larger. The third member if original will have a distinctive stamped code.

The 62s with the metallic brake option (NOT the HD brakes) DEFINITELY do have totally different pull back springs for the shoes. They are pink (YES, pink) and yellow and almost twice the diameter of standard and HD springs. Yes, HD springs are the same diameter, but heavier, as std springs.
Have I ever seen an original? Yes, I had it stored in my shop for 1 1/2yrs and it is now owned by a common friend to John Neas and me.
Also, metalic brake drums were the same size as the std drums. Only the HD brakes got the bigger, finned drums.

Has anyone found any aftermarket (Wagner , Raybestos etc) springs that are the equivalent (tension) of original C1 return springs ?

Standard brake, metallic and HD ?

Original factory springs as far as I know where specific to the shoe application : primary , secondary , front , rear , etc not like what are currently being supplied for aftermarket service replacement.
