what is the correct finish for the release handle and under deck hardware on a 64, thanks billy

The underside of the deck lid and all the hardware (handle, cables, latches, etc.) is painted body color; all that stuff was in place when the body was painted. The chrome soft top latches and hardtop ferrules were added in the Trim Shop, after paint.

John, what about the deck lid strikers where they also bodycolor?

Yes - they were installed in the Body Shop, and were in place when the body was painted.
