Before I start taking everything apart, maybe I can get lucky with a simple suggestion...
My 65 roadster dash and clock lights suddenly stopped working. I checked the fuse. Replaced the headlight switch. Turning the light **** to dim the dash lights does nothing. However, my headlights and inside courtesy lights do work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Andy
Andy, I think that your instrument lights get power from the dark green wire at the light switch. Power is fed to the fuse panel, and all of the instrument lights are lit via grey wires from the fuse box. I would check first to see if you're getting 12 volts at the light switch (dark green). If you are, check the fuse, as they are all on the same circuit. Most of the time it's a bad light switch that causes that problem. Hope this helps.
Mike
Make sure you have power on the fuse clips at BOTH ends of the fuse; the feed from the light switch (power "in" to the outboard side of the fuse), and power "out" from the inboard end of the fuse to the gray wire that feeds all the bulbs.

I cleaned the fuse clips and cleaned both fuse sockets on the engine side of the firewall. Only the bottom 2 fuses are getting power, the top 4 fuses are not getting power inboard or outboard. However, everything works except the dash lights, clock included. I have headlights, parking lights, brake lights, courtesy lights, backup lights and a functioning heater fan.
My 65 has not been restored, it is a great driver which logs 2 - 4K miles each year.
Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

I suspect you have corrosion or failed connections inside the fuse block. Photo below shows it opened up, and the connections on the far right side of the photo are for the "power in" side of the fuses. The bottom two fuses are fed by the same red wire, and the top four are fed by the green, brown, and pink wires.
