Default Confused on Rear End Code

Rear end code on my 67 427 coupe reads AT 62 67. I understand AT is 3.08 posi, but I understand the next couple of numbers are suppose to be month and day plus a letter designating the plant where it was built according to Corvette by the Numbers book by Colvin. Searched archived posts, I see both types

Curious on where I'm missing the boat.

What you're seeing isn't unusual - there were variations in the stamping, and not all got the extra characters for Warren, Posi, shift, etc. Yours is 6 2 67, or June 2, 1967.

Mine was built about a week prior to yours (see photo below), and is the same stamp format - only the ratio code (AM - 3.36 Posi) and date.

Here is a photo of my 67, a few days after yours and it also doesn't have the extra character.
