67 L-68...201 vacuum cannister?
I just pulled the distributor on the 67 L68. I did not really know what to find as this is an original TI car that had the TI setup replaced with a conventional single point distributor somewhere in it's past.
The distributor appears to be in good condition except I am confused about the vacuum cannister. I was under the impression that a 390/400 car would use the 360 can. Mine has the 201 can on it now. I thought this was for the L-71 application.
Any detriment to runnint the 201 can with full manifold vacuum to it? While I have it apart I can easily switch to the 360 cannister ( I have both).

I don't have the functional specs by GM part number for the vacuum advance units, but the specs for the 1111247 distributor vacuum advance (L-68 points) are:
0* @ 7" Hg.
12* @ 12" Hg.
Do you have the specs for the 201 and 360 cans?

It appears the 201 can has 15 degrees advance (stamped 201 15) I thought it said 12 yesterday before I cleaned it off more thoroughly.
Apparently the 360 can is MORE correct (360 12), though I'm not sure it's the best choice.
I've read Lars' and Duke's writings on this, and am unclear which current parts store replacement cannister is recommended for my distributor.

That selection is based on your manifold vacuum reading at idle; the can selected should be fully-deployed at at least 2" Hg. less than your manifold vacuum at normal idle. If you have 14", the can should be fully-deployed at 12", etc.
