Default headlight switch

While replacing my front wiring harness today I found a spade terminal broken off a switch attached to the headlight motor. There are 2 black leads going to it(top and bottom). Is this the "limit switch"? Thanks.

Those are not "limit" switches. All they do is complete the ground circuit, which lights your "headlights" dash light. If it's not hooked up, all you will be missing is the light on the dash. I think these things are available from the vendors. Broken wire will not have any effect on the operation of the headlights or headlight motors. Mike Coletta

So that would be the headlight warning switch("lights") "limit switch" as listed in LICS ( 04-31)? Thanks

Yes. I should clarify that the "lights" indicator will stay on while your headlights are up, and lit. A temp fix until you get a switch is to ground the broken wire. As soon as both headlights are "up", and since the other switch is still working, the dash indicator will go off. Hope this helps. Mike Coletta
