I have a 77' Targetmaster engine in a 64' convertible that's been producing a vibration around 2500/3000 rpm then goes away. This can be done with the trans in neutral, clutch in. I've replaced the vibration dampener, and pulleys. There's no power steering or other accessories. Unless there's an internal engine problem, I can only guess that it could be a flywheel or clutch assembly problem. Also a mild cam was installed, but no other engine work. Any ideas ??

Why not a motor mount ? First thing to check especially if occurs at cruising RPM with the clutch in...
Do a Compression Check. Also examine the Plugs. Keep them in order and save them to compare in the future as a Diagnostic Aid. Over the Top? Yes, but just owning these cars is a little strange! Al W.

Only with the clutch in? My guess is the pilot bushing is worn off center (had 3 of those before I installed a roller bearing), or a piece has come off the clutch plate (had 1 of those).

These are good ideas !!. I stated with the clutch in, and the car standing still, to eliminate the possibility of a driveline problem past the clutch. It will vibrate enough to feel it in the wheel and vibrate the rear view mirror when cruising around 60/65MPH . I also omitted that I've just installed new wheels and tires ,obviously balanced.
Thanks to all for responses !!

Try disconnecting all fan belts esp. alternator. I once had a similar issue that turned out to be from an out of round alt. pulley.
Alternator belt is an easy check. Will try first thing in the morning. In regards to clutch in or out, I was referring to the clutch pedal depressed. (in) . Just to clarify !! Thanks Again,
