Default Have Fun!

OK David, Your an engine builder, right? Build yourself a nice street cruiser engine and install a 3:36. That 4:56 is great for the drags as you know but not much fun to cruiz with. I for one enjoy taking a nice ride in the country on Sundays, thumbs uping the Harleys and other Corvettes. Don't get me wrong I love to lite um also, but you wanted motivation to get out and drive the car. Having someone of the female persuasion with you also adds to the enjoyment. Saving these cars for someone else just makes no sense at all IMO. Good luck and go drive that "sucka"

Locate a hospital in your area and ask if any veterns are there. See if any want to take a ride. You'll feel good and they will have a ball. Dennis

Need a haircut? Drive the vet. Groceries? Drive the vet. Shopping at the mall? Drive the vet. Going to work? Drive the vet anyway.

Worked for me for the last thirty two years.

Hear about all those people dropping dead recently? Get out with that car and enjoy it before uh, the weather changes. Otherwise, take it to Sticks Unlimited in La Habra, sell it, and use the money for something you really like.

Thanks Beach Dude....

the NHRA passed 'Pure Stock' rules so that guys in Vette, Vipers, et all could run their stock cars down the track without having to cut them up.

the rules state 'stock tire' no power adders and other rules, which have allowed our class of racing to run under the same exemption.

now, if I had a 1966 Corvette laying around with a L79 and a set of 4.56 gears, I think I would take it to the track......... oh wait, I did

here is a 40 minute video of the kind of fun you could be having, Dr. E http://blip.tv/file/2314030/

Here's my '66 coupe with 48,000 original miles on it. I drive it whenever I can. So far, it hasn't let me down. I drive it to the track and drive it back. Too bad that I lost this one. They are too much fun not to drive.

Unfortunately, that was the only video of my car and it was my slowest time. Oh well. I'll have to do it again.
