Trailing arm question
It seems I have 1 of each on my car, and I was thinking of removing them to replace the bushings anyway. They otherwise are in good shape, no rust. I checked the toe in alignment and it looks good. I did notice the shims on the early arm side can be moved by hand pressure where as the other (65 - later side) don't budge. The shims can't fall out in any case as they have holes at both ends (not slots).
I was thinking of just welding a top bumper plate on the early Arm to match (my rear frame has the later 65 style frame rubber bumpers and the early one won't make any contact since it lacks the top plate) and putting everything back with new bushings. Does anyone see a problem with that? Am I missing something here????

Any thoughts about the shim movement on the one side? They are not sloppy loose, but I can move them with hand pressure. Both arms have an equal amount and placement of the shims on each side.
