You could weld it up and you might get away with it. Might also burn up the seal on the shaft if you use too much heat. If you weld the nut to the shaft , probably be o-k. Then run the tranny till rebuild time, fix it then. The rev shaft is junk anyway. Your only other option is to pull the tranny and pull the tailshaft housing off and fix it the right way. But then you might as well put bearings, sliders and syncro's in ! Oh yea, use a 1/2 nut to weld to. Good luck.
