Default Tips for pulling my engine

66 427. Do you guys remove the 4 speed before you pull the engine, I believe I am going to for more clearance. Also I generally use the bolts on the ends of the heads as a connection point for the hoist for small blocks but didn"t see any good connection spots there so I suppose the intake bolts will hold a 427 ok. Any more tips to make this go easier would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I left the 4 speed in the car. Just take the bolts out of the bellhousing. I don't like to lay on my back on concrete, so I did everything from the top.

Intake bolts will hold just fine.

Use an engine leveler and you should be good to go.
Obviously you will need to take off the hood, remove the radiator and shroud. Pull the water pump as well and that will give you extra clearance. Oh, and dont forget to take off your shifter. I left mine on once and could not figure out why the engine and trans wouldnt budge-pretty stupid move.

Thanks for the good tips . Shifter, yes I will try to remember that. So no one pulls their trans I suppose.

I don't remove the trans. It is much easier in my opinion to leave it on there!

With a leveler it is not an issue to pull them together.

you can leave it attached. If you don't have a leveler
just use a chain and attach it off center to give it tilt. Shemp
