Default C1 Charging System

The charging system in my C1 appears to be working OK, never had a problem. Although, after I drive it, if I connect my "Battery Tender" to the battery, it will charge the battery for a few hours before it indicates the battery is fully charged.
Does that mean that the battery wasn't fully charged by the generator/VR, or does the "battery tender" charges the battery more than the charging system in the car?

Thanks,
Pierre

that's a good question. it probably just shows a difference in what the car's voltage regulator charges up the battery to-- versus what the battery tender uses as a fully charged value. if the car's charging system doesn't give you a problem i wouldn't worry about it.

Each electrical charging system may (probably) have a different "fully charged" set point. It also depends on the battery chemistry (and there are several).

Don't worry, be happy.

My '61 exhibits the same behavior....I suspect these battery tenders have a hiigher default state of 'full' charge before switching to 'maintenance' mode. I don't worry about it.
