Default help w/ 63 clock

I thought my whole clock was sliding out but now that I have taken some stuff apart I see from the back that the clock is very secure. The bezel and a big tube it is attached to (see pic) are sliding out. I dont know what the big tube is that the bezel goes on cause I dont see it in any parts break down. Could someone please tell me how these pieces were designed to be secured?

Default Clock

That is the whole clock. The tube you see is the clock housing. There should be 2 round ***** on the back that 2 special clips hook onto in order to retain the clock in the dash. You are probably missing the 2 clips. If you pull the glove box, you can see what's back there. The clips are available from all the vendors.

The ***** are there and so are the clips but something is wrong. The bezel and tube move but the rest of the clock is very secure. Maybe the case broke off the rest of clock? I will take your advise and remove glove compartment so I can get a better view.

The bezel has broken loose from the housing, or the housing, which is two pieces, has separated. Either way, the clock will have to be removed to make repairs.

Default Clock Apart

If I understand your post, it sounds like the bezel has come away from the housing. When initially assembled they were riveted together. My guess is that sometime they were taken apart for repair/service & the rivets were partially or completely ground off to do the job.
I've reassembled several by drilling & tapping the bezel & using some VERY TINY machine screws to hold them together. Be careful so you don't drill too far & go thru the front of the bezel.
