Default Distributor End Play Question

Should the distirbutor end play be the same on a TI distributor as a point type distributor.

The Delco-Remy distributor assembly drawings for the T.I. distributors all show .030"-.086" end play between the gear and the housing, vs. .002"-.010" for the point distributors.

John,

Was that point distributor end play spec. be for just cast iron housings?

That spec is pretty small for the aluminum housing distributors. Do you have a separate spec. for them?

Those specs are for the Corvette cast iron tach-drive distributors only. The assembly drawings for the later aluminum-housing HEI distributors have much wider tolerances, from .010"-.112".
