Maybe the power valves and jets.I think emissions started paying a part then. Other than that, date codes etc..

The front and rear carbs are all the same for 67-8-9 435's, but the center carbs are different; 67's used R3660A (3902355), and '68 used R4055A (3925517) early and R4055-1A (3940929) late, and '69 also used the R4055-1A.

John, I hope I am not wearing you out here? What physical differences were there on the later center carbs?

Thank you for taking the time to post a reply. I'm sorry I was not more clear.....aside from the numbers difference....of which I was aware, and which was the reason for my question....are there any physical differences in the 67, 68 and 69 center carbs of 435 horse Corvette carbs....thanks for the help.

Later carbs had a "flapper vent" on the center carb fuel bowl.

Default They looked the Same

Up until a few months ago I had 3 complete sets with intakes and a extra new center carb....They all looked the same to me except the date codes but each set matching each other....The new one is a Holley replacement carb and I presume without the GM numbers and letters on the air horn...its still in its Holley box for L71`s

Between 67 and 69 do you think Holley/GM did anything to improve the performance or function of the center carb??

The '67 center carb had #64 jets and no idle vent; the late '68 and '69 center carb had #63 jets and an idle bowl vent.

Thanks John,

I very much appreciate your taking the time to provide this information. Would you think it worthwhile to modify the 67 center carb to the specs of the 69 center carb? Thanks again for the help.

Rick.

Depends on your engine specs with respect to jet size, power valve, accel pump cam, and squirter size. Also sec carb spring choice.

Might want to read this post for some addt'l info.

What would you expect to gain by going with leaner jetting and adding the idle vent? I'd leave it alone unless there was a reason to change it.
