Installing door lock ***** 1963 Corvette

I am still having trouble installing the door lock ***** on my 1963 Corvette. I've tried pressing them on with no luck. I took the car to a interior shop and they couldn't install the locks. What can i do? I can't get enough preessure on the lock to attach to the lock assembly. Any ideas? Help!!!!

Check the condition of the splines in the lock ****. Sometimes they get bugered up and won't let the **** slid on far enough to engage the retaining clip in the slot on the lock shaft.

or your door panel is too thick or the lock **** splines are not made correctly. I had the same trouble with reproduction door handles and window cranks. after a few good slaps of the palm of my hand and a few bent clips I made them fit
