BUUUUUUUUUUUT, what I have had a problem with, is the organization's attitude toward, and treatment of, those cars/people/owners who have a Corvette which is not exactly as it was the moment it rolled out the back door of the St. Louis plant.
In fact I am a great admirer of a "perfect" factory version of these cars. And I have a great amount of respect for those who have taken the pains to perform such a thorough restoration.
As a result of their earlier attitude and treatment of NON-flight cars/owners, they are paying the price now because sooooooooooo many owners of "incorrect" early Vettes have been turned off and turned away from what is basically an excellent organization.
I'm not going into detail, and it is really inconsequential, but as a result of past offending treatment by some NCRS members, I have reciprocated by being VERY critical of NCRS's treatment of these owners. Fortunately, much of the membership now realizes that changes were severely needed, and some changes in fact have been made. But many changes were too little, too late.
One excellent example is the Sportsman class which now includes a group of cars that previously COULD NOT fulfill Flight judging requirements.
At a Regional meet that I once attended, I later learned that a well known NCRS member (now deceased) made the comment "Why the he!! did he bring "that" car here?" He made the mistake of making that comment in the presence of one of my good (NCRS) friends who passed it along to me.

One of my sick reasons for remaining an NCRS member all these years is just to be a thorn in their side.
