Well I bit the bullet and pulled my dash cluster out . I remember a thread about the paint to use for repaint also the paint to use on the hood grills on a 63.

Thanks Jim

Krylon Semi Flat 1613 if you can find it. There is also an SEM, I'll try and find the number for yoy.

Found the SEM, its SEM Trim black 39147. I used the Krylon on mine and it turned out great.

Hey 5th Vette your's look's great. I just shipped mine out to you . I hope mine comes out as nice as yours. Did you use the same paint for the rims of the gages?

It looks like you have a 63. Are you then looking for a thread on restoring the 63 dash? Doesn't that use an argent silver paint or something?

Like Jeff says mine is a 65 so the gauge bevels are different, Mine is just plastic chrome looking at the very edges and the rest is the semi flat just like the rest of the cluster base. The 63 is different but the paint for the cluster base would be the same. For mine the only thing I had to mask was the very edge of the gauge rims. I think you will have to mask the entire rim when you do it and then paint those the silver color for a 63.

Here's a link on restoring a 64 cluster, I think for what you need it would have the same data...
