Default Replacing motor mounts - tips?

Any advice on the best method for changing motor mounts on a '65 327? Looks straightforward, but I'm tired of learning lessons the hard way. Any definite "do's" or "don't's"?

Is supporting the engine under the harmonic damper a serious no-no?

All input appreciated, as always.

BTW: I'm changing these out because of a 2500 rpm vibration that's there with the car stopped. If no improvement, then the damper will be next. Both the mounts and damper are old.

DO NOT SUPPORT ENGINE BY THE HARMONIC DAMPER.
If you do, you run a real risk of damaging the dampers flexible coupling and perhaps inducting a bend in the CS snout.

Sypport the engine with 2x4's under the pan. Alternatively, use wedgees between the block and the framwe after you have raised the engine slightly.

Good luck.
