Bob:

I assume that your post is a question?

Yes, sidepipes for mid-year small blocks were available with both 2-1/2 inch and 2 inch exhaust manifold connections. The connection size depended on the year, transmission, and engine horsepower.

Yes in 65 if you ordered a hi-po car you would get the 2.5" pipes but in 66 they switched to 2" pipes for all SB cars.

With that being said I put a set of 2.5" ramshorns manifolds on my car along with Allens true 2.5" side pipes

Nope. In '66 the exhaust manifold outlets went to 2", but the exhaust pipes stayed at 2-1/2" (except 300hp Powerglides - they had 2" pipes).

Thanks John for clarifying that, So they only changed the manifolds? Was there a benefit.

Yup, they only changed the manifolds - it got rid of several castings (and several engine plant machining operations on them) that were only used on Corvettes.

So the Corvettes were the only ones to get them is what you are saying also? Interesting that they were specified for them only prior. Thanks. I learn something everyday on this forum. Now if I could just remember it all...
