Default 63 Side Emblems

Are there two different side emblems for 63? I ordered a set from Trim Parts and went to put them on and the posts were too close together to fit into the existing body holes.

Not sure which ones I ordered and dont want to make the same mistake again.

It is not a bad reproduction. Yes, there are two different side emblems for the 63. You got the early version and you need the late.
Trim is a first class dealer and I am sure they will exchange it but be aware the later ones are more expensive

Default early restos

Information years ago indicated early 63 used the same flags as a 62 chevy / vette. This has been well discussed over the years and it is a consensus the later flags are correct for all 63s. The posts are indeed different for each style flag.

So if someone did their research way back when, they were directed to use the 62 flags on early 63s. Like I did.

If I remember correctly, the bag says 62-63 early.

To be clear, 63 late has posts spaced further apart and 63 early has posts spaced closer together.

Thanks

As noted above, there was only ONE legitimate '63 fender flag. Trim Parts is labeling off bad information.

The same flag was used from '63-'65.

I'm just the FNG, but I have seen several VERY early (SEP 62) cars that had the thin flags. I know these cars were correct, as they had never been monkeyed with. My mid November car has the thick later style flags as all the later style has. Just another one of the many, many running changes made to the 63'a.

You are 100% correct there are two different flags. One for early, one for late. The embelm is basically the same but the mounting posts are spaced different.
