Trying to install my new door panels from Wilcox on my '65 convertible. The panel "hooks" over the top of the door from the vent window to the rear of the door. Does it also hook over the top of the door at the front, below the vent window? Thanks!! Also, any other install tips or pictures will be welcome.
Yes, Thats how it fits. I did the same thing on my 63 a few years ago. Had to do a little tweeking with a rubber mallet. Very happy with Wilcox panels. Take your time-I'm sure that it will fit properly.
the originals do not hook over the vent window area, nor do my old CA repros or AK repros. I don't see how they could, given the triangular cover plate over the vent regulator.
Getting a tight fit (small gap) in the vent window area has always been a problem with repro panels. The new CA panels are said to be improved compared to other repros.

they do not. Just all of the area on the glass window. up and down part.
The panels took a little but fit fairly well. I have two questions: the vent window cranks are not centered on the raised pad very well. Also, I had to really smash the panel down to get the cranks to click on. Are these common with repo panels? Thanks!
My CA panels (installed recently) were produced in the early 90's and yes they had the same issues. Also, the lock **** hole was off quite a bit, forcing me to move the mechanism on the door.
To get the cranks to seat, I had to heat up the panel.
