For those that have installed them on a c2 with sidepipes, what benefit did you realize?
Performance, sound, appearance?

Yep, talking to Jack was my first stop. Very nice guy to talk to.

Well, as you can see, my car has Hooker side mount headers, and it is a RACE car. I realized approximately 100 flywheel HP over stock cast iron headers with under chassis pipes and mufflers. Um...Joe Moia says it sounds pretty good too.
Mike; Let me know what you learn. I am considering adding side pipes as well. Right now I am leaning towards the Hooker system for a couple of reasons:
No need to cut the body or notch the birdcage.
Better flow
Easier to go back to undercar if I decide to restore and sell
From what I have heard (read?) you will still need to modify the side pipe to get it to fit.
This is without a doubt one of the hardest choices to make with this car.

Hey Len,
If I go that direction, I'm definitely going to go with the block huggers from McJack's. According to Jack, they'll bolt right up to my factory sidepipe connections, and they offer a left manifold with the correct bracket for the alternator. I guess I got real spoiled living in the C5 world, as there are hundreds of posts regarding performance gains with specific exhaust systems, and plenty of sound clips too..
The engine needs to come out this spring, so I'll be making my decision then....
