Default Electrical Question

I have a 64 Coupe, with the lights on if I push in the clutch pedal the lights get brighter. When I apply the brakes the lights dim . Anyone know what causes this.

It is common to see some slight dimming of the HLs when you push the brake, especially at idle. Those brake lights pull some current. The Clutch thing is interesting though. There should be no electrical connection related to the clutch. Two things that come to mind. First the HL wiring harness connection is near the clutch rod. It could be moving the wires when you push the clutch. Another consideration would be a bad ground that makes better contact through the clutch cross shaft when the linkage has some pressure on it. Check the engine ground and the grounds at the header bar and the radiator support.

fix it quick. I have seen some big messes caused by bad grounds. I have even seen throtle cables stick wide open from it.
