When some one buys it, I will bet they will be the only one in there town or county or state, hell maybe the United States with a car like that. Some one should buy it and send it to Larry The Cable Guy.
Appears to be a Klingon war machine that dropped out of the sky. Came equipped with the optional meat cleaver fender tops. That ray gun thingy protruding out the front looks awesome, too. ..
A touch of gray added really makes that burgundy paint pop! ..
I remember seeing a few of these back in the '70s in the big auditorium type shows. I was looking for a few pictures but couldn't find any. Remember, it was no different customizing a new mid '70s Corvette than customizing a C5 or C6 and there have been quite a few of those seen. and customizing was a big deal back then. People didn't all want to drive the same car as a hundred other drivers. Now most seem content with looking just like everyone else.
I remember a couple of these where one was white or white pearl and the other was a butterscotch color. While we think of Corvettes as special now, many other cars were considered much more luxurious than Corvettes back in the '70s. They were just a cheap American sports car. Fat-bellied, gold-chained, disco jerks bought them and drove them. A Porsche 911 or 924 or a Ferrari 308 was much more class than a dozen Corvettes back then.
The Markette wasn't the only such custom. The Excalibur was also a Corvette custom that was an expensive specialty car in the same era.
