These are fantastic pictures and very helpful for me as I am in the middle of a frame off. Do you have any recommendations on finishes? specifically, what did you use to get the cast iron look? Also, can you post any more pictures, maybe some with the engine and trans in? It would be very helpful.
Second, I'm a 67 guy, not a 65 guy, so hang with me for a second.
Third, if you're looking for input on NCRS correctness, the things that jumped out at me were the finish on some of the front suspension pieces. The washers on the ends of the upper A-arm rods should be black. Also, the bolts that hold the upper A-arms to the frame should be plated, not black. At least, that is the way it was for 67. I'm assuming 65 is similar, but I don't have a copy of the 65 judging guide. Also, check with some other 65 guys on the correct orange markings for the front spindles. I think there should be some amount of orange there, just not sure from memory how much or where. Also, I think the bolts on the diff cover should be black. Again, check my comments against a 65 chassis judging guide to be sure.
Either way, STUNNING job. You should be very proud!

I would like to first off, wish all a happy and safe New Year!.
I would also, like to thank all that have posted about how well this has turned out, as you can tell, I am very pruod of this. What started this project was the fuel line needed to be replaced and then once I had the body off, well, I decided the frame should match the body. Oh well.
I did you use the '65 NCRS judging manual as reference and did take some liberties as I am not having the car judged NCSR as it has side pipes and knock off wheels that were not originally on it. It is a numbers matching BB however. I have done classic car restoration for years now, Cadillacs and Packards, the Covette is my first attempt into a new world for me.
I painted the chassis using GM semi gloss black from Paragon and the cast look paint knowm as restorers cast-finish from Plasti-kote.
As I continue to make progress, I will be posting more photos.
They did the frame, upper/lower control arms, and some other brackets and I was very pleased with the out come. Did not damage the vin stampings at all.
Wow - there's those that talk, and those that "DO"
Some people talk about doing it.... then there are those that actually do it! Absolutely PHENOMENAL work, Eric! Congratulations! Can't wait to see it with a body on it.
