Default engine block identification

I have a 327 gm block 3782870 date code K143 and on the vin pad it has chev v8 and then F1115R although that last part is hard to read. Can anyone help me determine if this is a corvette block or what type of car it came from . thanks!

Look a little closer and see if you can see another letter after the R llike RC, RD, RE or RF.

The "R" code indicates a 1962 full size manual trans but the date code on the block is K143 . . ??

I think if you look closer at the "5R" you will see something else.

If not then it could be an industrial application.

The "R" suffix code was also used in 64 full size 250hp 327 with MT. "S" for PG.

I took paint cleaner to the pad . . and above the F code is "strickland" and below that "chev v8" - just a generic engine rebuilder or does anyone have a clue?

The "R" suffix was used in 1964 for the 327/250hp engine with a manual transmission in full-size passenger cars, and that one was cast in November, 1963 for 1964 production.

It's not out of a Corvette - all Corvette engines had 2-character suffixes, and the VIN derivative was stamped on the pad. Passenger car base engines didn't have the VIN stamped on the pad.

The other stampings are from a rebuilder or a creative owner.
