Rally ID help.
396 Rat Do theses sound like the identifing numbers. This is from left to right with the first four on the left of the valve stem. I only checked one of each so the other two could be different but I would have to check.
Front(15X7)- K L 5 M 6 FW
Rear(15x8)- K L 1 12 9 AZ
What are they? Thanks
Edit ---Yes I was not sure if the "L" was an L or a 1.
The "FW" is the identifier for a '65 15x7 Corvette ralley wheel. "K" is for Kelsey Hayes, the "L" is actually a "1", I believe, "5" is for 65, "M" is probably March and "6" is the sixth of March.
"AZ" is the identifier for a 15x8 Corvette wheel, probably the "1 12 9" means Dec 9th of 1971
... but I'm not sure when/if they changed the month from a letter to a number.
There may be more numbers/letters on the back of the wheels. In any event, they seem to be of differing heritage.
Of course there were no '65 rally wheels. The "FW" wheel is a 71-77 Chevelle and Monte Carlo 15 X 7 rally wheel. It looks very similar to the 1968 Corvette 15 X 7 "AG" wheel -- except for wheel offset.
