Has anyone recently sent their vent windows out for repair? On one side of my 65 Convertible I need a new pivot hinge attached and on the other side I need a new t-bar that goes in the regulator. Hoping that someone has recently had this done and can recomend a source. Please add what it cost too for comparison. Thanks!
I just had my 67 vent window pivot replace. I had it done by Paragon.
It came out to $85.00 for the work plus parts which is the cost of the pivot and the material to replace the glass back in the frame.
All in all the repair came out good. I would recommend you also send in the full frame around the vent window s/s frame. In my case the pivot did not align with the hole in the frame and I had to bend it a bit to fit. Other than that they did a good job. Turnaround is about a week.
Recently found an original LH vent window frame with dated glass on ebay for $50 Buy-It-Now. Frame was in great shape, just popped the clear glass out and installed my tinted glass. After a couple minutes on the buffing wheel it was like new again.
Now I have a frame without a pin and a clear dated vent glass in my sell pile. May just break even on that one. How often does that happen?
