Anyone install a new super wide m22z. What do you think for a 327-300hp for hiway cruzin

2.98 first gear? Must be designed to pull tree stumps from the Catskills. Quite a drop from that number to a 2.00 2nd.

300HP has plenty of low end torque all by itself!

depends... on what rearend ratio you have. my MY6 has a 3.09 first and a 1.68 2nd. with my 3.36 rearend i need the deep 1st and i have no problem carrying the BIG drop from 1st to 2nd.

My preference would be a 2.73 or 3.08 and stay with a 4 speed with a 1:1 for 4th gear.

a rule of thumb for 1st gear/rearend ratio combos is to multiply the 1st gear ratio times the rearend ratio; ideally you would like to have a final number around 10 or more.
