The only place I could find an 'original' set was Grossmueller's. I had to do some minor welding on the passenger base and also had to get two new spring packs for both bases. I'm broke now, but it looks pretty good. Thanks.

Thanks, these things are lots of work and only the ones that have restored old vettes (or any cars) can truly appreciate how much is involved. Thank God for understanding wives.

Sometimes my wife understands. At least, she will look at what I have done and has some input. She does not understand when I spend $$$ on it.

Looks good!

Like you said it's a lot of work, but it sure feels good when you get something done and you step back and see the results like in your photo. Nice job.

Small accident in the garage, I was under the car yelling at myself and I must have scared the dog, he actually came over to lick my face. :o

Ouch! I feel your pain my friend.
The good news is that it's a solid color and you are at the bottom edge of the panel. As painful and frustrating as it is right now, it can be repaired and won't show.

No problem... Now that you got your first "ding" out of the way, drive it like you stole it!

Better that it happened in your garage and not in public.... It would have been worse to have been drug off in cuffs after law enforcement responded to a "disturbance and profanity" call......
