63 neutral safety switch ???

Did all 63 PG trans. come with a NSS. can't find one on this trans.
Also car has on back up lights.Thanks for any info.

C2 of the Year Finalist - Modified 2020

According to my resto guide, yes they did have a NSS. Back up lights (318 units) became available about Mid-1963 production.

OK this is an early car Oct-62, So I guess I'll do with out the NSS.

Here's a '63 neutral safety switch with backup lights; they aren't reproduced (nor is the linkage) - think "home equity loan" if you find one.

OK so where do I get one? and if I can't find one can I run with out it.

You run a BIG risk of you or someone else starting your car in gear without using the neutral safety switch. I'd think about checking out the possibility of adapting a switch from another vehicle to function on your car. A similar switch using a linkage off of the transmission shifter arm would be a good place to start, I'd think.
