Default Engine Indentification Help Please...

I'm hoping to get some information/verification on what was claimed to be a 327/350HP. It was in a '73 Vert when purchased and that's what the seller was told it was when he bought the car. Unfortunately he didn't have much history on the engine or why it was installed in the '73in place of the original 454 CI motor that came in it to begin with.

Here's what I know:

BLOCK
Engine Code FO224HO
Casting GM3782870
Date Stamp BJ85

HEADS
Casting 333882
Date J275

The block is vented just above the bellhousing.

Any definitive information would be appreciated as there are many conflicting numbers out there. Also, other than as a solid running SBC…does it have any value? If not it’s going in a buddies 49 Chev.

Thanks!

The block matches up with '62-'65 327 Corvette Look 1/2 way down this page:

http://corvette-world.com/corvette_1...ng-Numbers.php.

The "HO" suffix on the F (Flint) stamp indicates a 1965 base horsepower, powerglide configuration.

The heads are '73-'77 350ci heads.

Thanks Frankie!

I was afraid of that about the heads due to the casting marks.
But thought I'd better check before doing something stupid with a good motor that someone here could possibly use (...if it was correct). As it is, it looks like it's destined for street rodding.

I don't have much info on small block indentification, and the website I've used in the past doesn't appear to be around anymore. So thanks again for your help!
