Wanted to know what other year power steering pumps (if any) are correct for a 1966 327-350hp. Looking to add power steering to my 66. Is there a part number to look for? Thanks, Joe
Joe it depends if you are looking to use a correct setup or are you interested in an upgrade?
The stock setup can be purchased from any of the vendors or you can go with a Jeep steering box setup from Corvette Steering. If I was adding PS to a car I would go with the latter. However with the car that you are thinking of adding this to I would do a correct setup. The 66 that will be delivered to you steers effortlessly compared to other manual steering cars. I would drive it first before making any decisions.
63-74 Corvette all use the same pump. No part number on them that I recall. The 63-74 pump have a reservoir with straight sides and a keyway in the shaft. 74-82 pumps have a reservoir with sides that taper out to the with of the round part of the bottum of the pump. Later pump also have a tapered shaft instead of a keyway.
