Where can I find some good info/photos etc of headliner installation for a C-2 coupe? All my past project cars have been roadsters, so I haven't done much interior work (no windows, windshield wipers or other non essential stuff).
It looks like the only time I'll be able to physically put a headliner into the car is when I lift the body off the chassis to do the chassis paint (roll cage is CLOSE to the roof). I don't want to have to take the body off twice, so figure I'd best start doing some research on interior installations (I don't even know how it's held in, clips or just glued or .....)
If I'm remembering right , on my '64 The backing of it was stiff, and it was just supported by the surounding trim. I could send you pictures of it as in in the car, but I don't have any while disassembled .

Molding around the edges holds it in place. Aligning it is critical; you must not let any of the screws touch the headliner. Assuming that you have not taken the old one out, take pictures as you do it and then reverse the process.
Just a suggestion for project-no-flight.You can go to any decent interior shop and order foam backed vinyl in a number of colors.Cut it to the right shape and stick it right to the roof. Then attach the rest of the panels. You may have a problem with these(especially the halo panel that goes from side to side behind your head)with the body on as well.Ive seen this done and it works OK.Hope that cage isnt too close to the roof!Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!..............Bill S
Thanks for the replies (been out of the office for a few days), but not exactly what I was hoping to hear. Since I don't "have" any of the interior moldings yet I guess I'll have to see if I can rig up some temporary means to hold a headliner in the "vacinity" of the roof until I get far enough tostart chasing moldings.
