yes, do a search on Bourgeson steering boxes robbur, there's lots of good info, your steering box is the same one that is used for manual or power steering only difference is that power assist comes from a slave cylinder attached to a power steering pump.

Nope. Corvette power steering had nothing to do with the steering gear - the gear was the same with either power or manual. If you want to remove the linkage-boosted Corvette power steering system and replace it with an integral power steering gear like the full-size cars used, you'll have to go aftermarket.
