front spring question
my '65 has the wrong front springs installed, they are Corvette America part # 20391, 17 1/2" tall and .640 thick, i see they offer another spring p/n 20394, 13" tall and .660" thick, my question is: my car sits a good 2" too high so is it safe to cut 4" off the spring and would that get me close to stock height? I wonder if anyone has done this or do i have to get another set of springs?

The '57 I used to have had the stock springs. I installed a new crate engine with aluminum heads and intake. Also had an aluminum Muncie trans, so the total weight was maybe a 100 lbs. lighter than stock and the car sat up an inch too high.
I cut off 1/4 of one coil on each side and that lowered the car by an inch, FWIW. Your results may vary. PT
