I ordered an item from a vendor I hardly use, and decided to return it. Well the package came back; refused. I thought now what. I knew the box wasn't opened. Well, I called them and was told we no longer accept returns, due to business being slack. Said I was stuck with it, BUT, maybe sometime I'll be able to return it. Give me a break. I won't say who this vendor is, if it's against the rules here, but it sounds like, the pad by the dock. Easy to figure out.
If you are not completely satisfied, fill out the Return and Exchange form on the back of your invoice. Send back any new or unused parts (excluding special order items) in their original box within 90 days to us, prepaid, for a credit or refund of the purchase price of the merchandise.
If you ordered the part and it was correct, why should they take it back? No mistake was made by the vendor. But most vendors will take it back and charge a re-stocking fee of 15% which is standard unless it was a special order item.

Maybe it wasn't the quality he wanted. Maybe he changed his mind. What part of "NO HASSLE" don't you get? And NO, most vendors DON'T charge a restock fee.
Hmmmm. This is easy. If you wanted the part keep it. If it pisses you off don't use them again but make sure you point out to them the Hassle free part.
I have a shop and nothing gets re stocked but I tell them no refunds it's on the receipt and a massive sign in front of the till. If they advertise they will refund that's a different story. Things must be tough over there if they are saying that.... Stewy
Just thinking about this. I'm 42 years old and I buy lots of stuff. I have never taken a product back for refund unless it was damaged ! I guess I make sure what I purchase is needed. Stewy

Exactly. Changed my mind. I just find it hard to believe that because business is slow, no returns are allowed. Funny also, they got the item from CA, but marked it up $60.00.
I believe that vendor also supplies vintage Mustang parts....and I used them some in the past for my Ford parts. Wasn't a big fan and preferred other vendors most of the time...

What part of HE DIDN'T OPEN THE BOX did you not read! And, where in the post does it say NO HASSLE RETURNS. He isn't saying the part is bad, just he decided he didn't want it. Who knows how long he has had the part. Most vendors have a return policy but since we don't have this information we don't know. Most OEM parts returned to the dealer have a re-stocking fee if they just decided they don't want the part and there is nothing wrong with it. If I am wrong, sorry but that has been my experience over the years. back at ya!
absolutely the best vendor I have dealt with and love to deal with is Summit Racing......they have an extremely liberal return policy before any kind of restocking kicks in.....next is Paragon, they are also great about returns but as the purchase ages you might run out of time.
In recent time when I was doing my hardtop I ended up buying 3 sets of hold down screws....thankfully my head is screwed on tight or I would loose it.....they took them back....I just ordered too many. Sometimes depending on the car and how much something costs and how bad my original is, I may decide to return the purchased part. If someone doesn't have a decent return policy I will find someone else that does.....
Paragon requires a return authorization number while Summit doesn't.

After I got the box back,it was obvious THEY did not open the box. That's what puzzled me why the return was not accepted. I could understand if I damaged the part and tried to return it. And I only had the part for two weeks. Anyway, credit card co. sounds like they'll be able to resolve this.

Read the original post. The VENDOR RETURNED THE PACKAGE UNOPENED. Read the return policy of where he bought the item. In the past 30+ years restoring cars, I've spent well over $200K in parts and have NEVER paid a "restocking fee". Sometimes **** happens, you order soooo many parts that sometimes you duplicate orders, sometimes you change your "plan of attack" etc.

Summit will take almost anything back and refund the full price. Even send you a shipping label or you can tear off the end of the receipt and use it as a shipping label. I have spent more money with Summit on my past street rods than I would care to think about.

Sorry, I read your post thinking you didn't even open it and just wanted to return the part. Yep, good old VISA or Mastercard will help you. Maybe. Would like to know who the Vendor is though so we can stay away from them.
One of my friends tried to buy a set of wheels for his Pantera from the "Manny Moe and Jack" car parts guys. They ordered the wheels for his car, and the offset had the wheels sticking out 2 1/2 inches in the back. PB wouldn't exchange them or give a refund. If took a month of haggling and calling and crap before he threatened to call the local do-gooders at the local tv station. That got their attention. He finally got his $ back.
