Default Small V8 ignition shields

Are the ignition shields for 1963 - 1967 the same for the 327's?

Short and simple answer. No. Get a parts catalog from a vendor and you will see the changes over the years. Welcome. Bill.

Several, if not all, will interchange, but there are differences. At least 4 or 5 different ones made, check the vendors catalogs as suggested.

The right side (passenger) plug shield is a one piece unit covering all 4 right side plugs and it also goes over the exhaust manifold. The right side shield is shared with the 62 327.

The left side plug shields are two separate pieces, one for the front two plugs and one for the rear two. The left side covers are the same from 63-65.

The right rear verticle shield is unique to 1963 only, the left verticle is the same for 63-67.

Seems that I also remember that the original style plug shields won't fit cars with the later style motor mounts, the safety mounts that interlock to keep the engine from "rising" if the rubber in the isolation gives way. In that case as I remember in order to eliminate the interference, you need to go to the later style shields, or back to the original style engine mount for them to clear.

Don't hold me to that, just going from memory. But, worth checking into further before you spring for something that's not gonna work. Maybe someone else will chime in with better info than I've got!!

Ya post 63 Vettes had a manifold vacum fitting that would interfere with the 63 shield.
