When jacking a mid year is it OK to jack up one side at a time if the jack is placed midway between the front and rear jack points so that jack stands can placed at the correct points with one jack lift operation.
Personal past experience I never jack from the side, it stresses the body to much especially as you describe. The best way is to lift at the rear then at the front. Starting at the rear gives you initial clearance under the spare tire carrier to roll the jack to the spring plate. Then go the the front and your done. Whenever you jack a Vette, open the doors just past the latching point. This takes the stess off the body and locking components. Hope this helps!
I always jack mine where the owners manual and the service manual say to jack it. My car still has a few scars (that I couldn't remove) from being jacked improperly (at the differential and the front cross member).
You should only jack from the side at the jack points shown in the owner's manual.
While I believe you can jack at the differential and front cross member, it is not recommended for the front cross member. There is a metal plate covering it and it can be bent easily. If yours is already bent from somebody previously, as many Corvettes are, then it won't matter.
