I guess worthless desert does have some redeaming value after all!
I have a friend with a C6 auto who refuses to admit that it is an auto just because it has paddle shifters!
If I'm driving an auto it better be either a commuter econobox or a family luxo-wagon. The terms "sports car" and "automatic" are mutually exclusive! But then I'm an old british sports car purist...

For me I can't imagine my '62 with a powerglide. Now my '72 was an auto and I was happy with it. It's shifts were crisp and would chirp the tires going into second with little encouragement. I could go either way in a C3. A C2 would definitely need a stick. With the newest models I could go either way they both work so well.
