Default 1960 headlight switch

Here is a dumb question ! The **** that you pull out to turn the headlights on has a black plastic back plate that has lights written on it. How is that plastic backplate held in position. My AIM doesn't show it real well. Bubba has glued my old one with super glue holding it against the dash ? There must be something missing. I have the nut that screwsn into the switch to hold that. but that is all ? Stewy

The black plastic piece has a tab at the bottom to keep it from rotating as you tighten the nut. The black plastic piece has a flange that the nut tightens against to hold it in place.
