Big puff of smoke from under dash. Temp gauge hadn't been working right after puff it goes to max temp. Amp meter starts working correctly after showing slight discharge. I know it was charging by checking at battery with volt meter.
Earlier head light motors and turn signals stopped working, but four way flashers worked.
Looking under dash and find fuse blown. Replaced, key turned to first notch and fuse blows, big time. More investigation under dash and fine wire from fuse box to brake light switch fried, I mean fried.
Now the question, if the brake light switch is fried from box to switch was the ground in this wire or is it after the switch? Secondly, could this be by problem for the other areas?
That 20-ga. orange wire from the fuse block to the brake light switch also feeds the courtesy lights/dome light, glove box light, and clock; check those feeds and connections for shorts.
