I am trying to determine why my passenger window will not go up straight. It goes about halfway up and then starts to severely tilt backwards and unless I hold the back of the window up as I crank the window regulator it will get jammed. I can see that all the rollers are in their tracks but the window itself seems to have play and so I would like to know how the window is attached to the window regulator? I have the assembly instruction manual but it does not describe well enough how to remove the window or how it is attached. Any help would be appreciated.

This is my thinking:
There is a small track attached to the inner panel that the rollers go in...that track either came unbolted or pulled out of the fiberglass.
How do I remove the window from the regulator? I can feel that the track and the rollers are all in the correct place. I almost feel somethin came loose on the attachment of hte window to the regulator. I wish I could find a set of good diagrams of the inner workings of the window.

I appreciate your help on this problem.
If your car is a coupe i cannot help on how to get it past the coupe part of the door...
But nonetheless here goes...
The "window" is also bolted to the main track....you need to remove the door panel first, then loosen the rear track, look in the 2 access holes on he inner door skin roll your window up and down to view the bolts that are to be removed, there are i believe 2, "7/16" nuts/locks that are on the backside of the track use some duct tape or tape of your choice to hold the window at this level so it dont drop down, the stud that the nuts go on are attached to the main track...its kind of contortionist move with your wrist but you can do it.
I probably left something out but i think this will get going in the right direction...
I do have a convertible and you now have described my weekend as I had that track out as I installed a new one. So if I understand what you are saying I should be able to get the window off of all the rollers connected to the regulator by sliding the window around and then pull the window up out of the door? It is tight to work in there but even my fat hands were able to get around pretty well. I appreciate your patience with my questions but I was a bit frustrated over the weekend not being able to see why the window isnt working. The drivers window works properly and I am having the darnest time seeing why the passenger side is not.
if i remember correctly you still need to remove/loosen the rear track to make room...when you loosen the glass from the reg it will want to shoot upward because the weight of the glass keeps it in balance...be careful so it don't fly up and scare the you know what out of you..
You will need to tilt the window outward and lay it almost flat, so the studs don't hang on the outer trim/weatherstrip.
There is a great paper on Barry K's website here on the forum which outlines in detail on how to remove the glass on a midyear. I believe it is called the "anatomy of a midyear door". Check the archives. Jerry
