Default Breakerless Ignition Conversion Question

I am installing a Lectric Limited breakerless ignition conversion today and have run into what seems like a simple problem that everyone that has ever done this must have faced. I got through steps 1, 2, 3, and half of step four. Step four is where you install the two vane sections around the distributor shaft. The first side was a piece of cake because I preinstalled the 1” screw though the two vane sections and simply screwed that screw up from the bottom of the vane sections into the distributor plate. The problem is that once I wrap the two halves around the distributor and pull them together and align them with the second mounting hole, there is not enough clearance to get the second 1” screw under the assembled vanes and aligned with the mounting hole. I have about ½” between the bottom of the assembled vane sections and the bottom plate of the distributor.
What simple secret am I missing before I get frustrated and pull the distributor out to get a better look at it

Default Nevermind

Hey, the vanes fit much better when they are not upside down. I guess I had a 50/50 chance and I did not realize I was trying to force them to fit upside down.

Problem resolved

Sometimes when you stand back and look, things do come together. I sometimes have done a few things twice, before I figured it out. We have all done that at some time. Glad you got it sorted out.

The only guys who've never re-done something are either liars or guys who never attempt something new or difficult.

My personal favorite is breaking a part the first time, thus learning how to do it correctly the second time. I also find the icing on the cake is when it's a rare and expensive part. I like breaking them the best.
